Coping with questions 1

At the end of your discuss, you could get questions. You do not have to reply all the questions - they may not be good questions!

    * If it's a good query, thank the particular person and reply it.
    * A number of the questions may be irrelevant and never linked to what you want to say. Say so and get one other question.
    * Some could also be unnecessary because you have already given the answer. Repeat the reply briefly and get the subsequent question.
    * And a few may be difficult as a result of you do not have the information. Once more, say so and offer to search out the information or ask the particular person asking the question what they think.

If you get a query, comment on it first. This provides you with time to think. Listed below are some useful expressions that will help you do that:

    * That is a very fascinating question.
    * I'm glad you have requested that question.
    * A superb question.
    * I'm sorry but I don't have that information to hand.
    * Can I get back to you about that?
    * I'm afraid I can not answer that.
    * I am not ready to comment on that.
    * As I stated earlier, …
    * I think I answered that after I stated …
    * I did mention that.
    * I don't see the connection.
    * I am sorry, I don’t follow you.
    * I think that could be a very different issue.
